Hamburger Ingredients:
✌️1lb ground steak (lean ground beef works fine too!)
✌️1 egg
✌️1/4 cup bread crumbs **Substitute Matzah Meal or Potato Starch on Passover
✌️1/4 teaspoon black pepper
✌️1/2 teaspoon salt
✌️1/2 teaspoon onion powder
✌️1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
✌️1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
⚡️Mix by hand until well blended and form 4 large patties or 8 small patties (easy tip: roll into a ball and flatten)
⚡️Sear each patty on both sides (preferably in a pan with a bit of oil)
⚡️Set steaks on a paper towel to drain, and in the same pan…..
✌️Sautée 1 large onion, slice thinly, when translucent add
✌️1 red bell pepper, diced
✌️Sprinkle 2 tablespoons flour over the onions and peppers and MIX
✌️Deglaze the pan with 1/4 cup Red Wine Vinegar
✌️Add 1 cup low sodium broth
✌️Simmer 5 minutes uncovered until gravy thickens, then add steaks and simmer 15 minutes more – covered
⚡️Serve over your favorite mashed potato recipe!
(FYI my mashed potatoes are just potatoes boiled in salted water, mashed with a bit of the boiling water and some broth)
