Game Day Fire Popper Drumettes

Who doesn’t love fire poppers?

Even I, Miss Healthy Eating, love fire poppers!
These babies will have you and your game day guests licking their fingers and plates – no utensils allowed!!


– 2 dozen skinless Chicken Drumettes

– 2 cups Flour

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– salt and black pepper, to taste

Mix the flour and spices together in a ziplock bag then….

Toss in the Drumettes and mix in the flour – shake the bag around to get each drumette fully coated!

Remove each drumette and shake off excess flour, set aside for frying.

Heat up vegetable oil in a pan, just enough to fill the surface of the pan. 

Fry each drumette until lightly golden on eac side – you should only need to flip once. Drain fried Drumettes to a paper towel.

Once all the Drumettes are fried, drain and clean the pan of the oil and set aside.

In a bowl combine:

– 1/2 cup Frank’s Red Hot (other brands taste different! Get Frank’s!)

– 1/3 cup Coconut Sugar OR Granulated White Sugar

– 1/4 cup Honey

*Optional: 1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard

Mix well! 

Coat the Drumettes in the sauce…..mix well and return to the pan. Cover and bring to s boil, then reduce to simmer 20 minutes!
That’s it! 

I served these alongside rice…..but truthfully, I’d rather eat an extra pot of these than fill up on plain old white rice 🙂
